About The 8-bit Adventure World
This site was built to gather all those fabulous adventures for 8-bit computers in one spot. The aim is to make it easy for fans, or will-be fans, to find information about the games, get previews and descriptions to find out which games may suit their tastes, and download the games.

About copyright...

This site attempts to preserve a piece of history, and make it accessible and enjoyable for as many as possible. In doing so, we simply don't have the resources to track down the current copyright holders for hundreds of games, produced by companies now defunct.

If you are the copyright holder of a game featured here and feel that this site violates your copyright, please let us know and we will remove the game immediately. On the other hand, if you are a copyright holder of a game featured here and think it's ok to distribute your game over the Internet, please tell us so we know the status. We do care.

About missing information...

If you can fill in some missing information about games on the site, have suggestions for improvement or just want to say what you think, don't hesitate to tell us!

About missing games...

If you have games which you think should be here, then drop us a mail with the name of the games. Every game on the site should:

  • allow for the user to type what he/she wants to do as a (possibly simplified) sentence
  • be available for one or more 8-bit computers, like Commodore 64, Vic-20, Sinclair Spectrum etc.

About missing languages...

The site is supposed to branch out into different sections, one for each language. If you have or know of several games in a language which isn't covered yet, and want to start up a new section for that language, please contact us. To do this, you should of course be fluent in writing that language as well as in English. You should also have at least basic knowledge of Perl and/or programming in general.

Managing a language section can mean a considerable amount of work. If you want to assist a language section manager, please contact us.
